“What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said?” Asked the boy. “Help” said the horse. “Asking for help isn’t giving up” said the horse”. “It’s refusing to give up”

My Approach

My way of working combines traditional psychotherapeutic theories with, evidence-based techniques into a style that feels relatable, down to earth and compassionate.

I blend elements of neuroscience, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, person centred, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and body based/somatic psychotherapy.

I will listen, observe and notice to what’s happening in your thoughts, feelings and body as a way of understanding your unconscious.

The unconscious is what we can’t see ourselves, such as why we repeat patterns and feel stuck. The unconscious also causes bodily issues such as digestive problems, pelvic pain, migraines, chronic fatigue or sleep issues. In therapy we will analyse the unconscious to bring about change.

Getting to the root cause of your symptoms.

Before starting therapy, I offer an initial 15 minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what your hopes and anxieties might be. It also allows you to get a sense of my way of working and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

Should you choose to work with me, we'll start with an 50 minute 'taster session' or and explore further your concerns and determining our suitability for continued collaboration. I find that dedicating time to these initial meetings allows us to establish rapport and tailor our approach effectively.

In line with the guidelines by BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I engage in ongoing professional supervision to ensure the highest standard of care for my clients. Committed to continual growth, I regularly pursue additional training through counseling courses, workshops, research, and literature review.

Please note that I do not provide diagnostic services or accept insurance.
